Muslim Brotherhood - Bishop Youssef, Michael Coren and Mohamed El-Erian on the turmoil/horror/upheaval in Egypt

  • Bishop Youssef of Saint Anthony's Coptic Orthodox Church (http://suscopts.org/diocese/bishop/), forced to speak out in the face of the turmoil in Egypt, on democracy and church burnings,
  • Michael Coren (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Coren) of the Sun News Network,
    who calmly, matter-of-factly and aptly outlines what the Muslim Brotherhood     is, and
  • Mohamed El-Erian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohamed_A._El-Erian), CEO of Pimco, who articulates in a CNN interview the current state of political upheaval and economic decline, the role of the US and the empowerment of Egyptian entrepreneurs, small- and medium-term enterprises. 

I commend their knowledge, experience, honesty and objectivity.  The damage and horror the Muslim Brotherhood could have inflicted on Egypt is unfathomable, unquantifiable and utterly unacceptable.  The Brotherhood is imagining that with violence they will bring Egypt and Egyptians to their knees, destroying it and terrorizing them.  This simply will not happen.


I respectfully ask my friends who are in a position to do so, to ensure that the Muslim Brotherhood is never again in a position to affect the way the Egyptian people live their lives or have reason to believe they can affect state and society's behavior.  The new constitution should outlaw any religion-based party.  This will take the Brotherhood party with its insular religious dogma out of the picture.  The three branches of power should govern for the sake of ALL Egyptians, for men and women, for Muslims, Christians and even Jews, as well as any other ethnicity that may grace Egypt in the future, for children, for gays and lesbians.
