Courtesy of my good friends Talaat and Aly, two videos worth your time friends, very much so. Dr. Essam Heggy gives a critical, meaningful and factual analysis where he outlines that any qualified, competent and earnest government would laser-focus, first, foremost and for as long as it takes on three aspects of the Egyptian people's life:
- Education & Awarness,
- Healthcare, and
- Women Rights.
Dr. Heggy is an insider who left his job at NASA in Los Angeles, USA, to go back to Egypt to contribute to its advancement as a member of the Presidential commission, he served as the Egyptian president adviser for scientific affairs from 2013 to 2014 (https://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Essam_Heggy). Dr. Heggy is simply stating his informed views in regards Egypt's present leadership and state of affairs.
A key statement Dr. Heggy makes at minute 12:30 directly relates to what we have been talking about since our glorious revolution of 2011. He correctly states that on 25 January, 2011 the Egyptian people demanded a civil nation, they got a religious one; on June 30, 2013, the Egyptian people, again, demanded a civil nation, they got a military nation!!!
One needs only to consider the ongoing consequences of such make-belief government, resulting as we speak in the telling indicator and alarming condition of an exchange rate of 9 EGP to 1 USD!?!
Overall, as my solid friend Ahmed puts it "Dr. Heggy' interview is a very informative and surprisingly very transparent interview (46 min) with Dr. Essam Heggy, a prominent Egyptian scientist who is a holdover of NASA for a number of years. Dr. Essam was a senior advisor to ex-president Adly Mansour for one year (2014). to He expressed his views very candidly about how Egypt was badly ruled then -and until today-, highlighting the haphazard planning and analysis (or lack thereof) of national projects, and non-scientific decision-making to allocate billions of EGP to such projects. He was highly critical of the direction of the country, the choices made by the leadership, and top echelon of the government in prioritizing development areas, and their (unwise) decisions of what current mega projects to fund!"
